The Way to Save is built around minimal data collection. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

SUMMARY

The short version.

We do not store the raw financial information you enter into the savings plan tool. Bill amounts, subscription names, and spending details are used to generate your plan and are not saved in our database.

We collect your email address only if you choose to receive your savings plan by email or sign up for updates. We do not sell personal information.

Some service providers help us operate the site, deliver email, process AI requests, host the app, and measure basic site performance. Those providers may process limited information only as needed to provide their services.

Information we collect and why.

Savings plan inputs

When you use the AI Savings Plan tool, you may enter information about your household, bills, subscriptions, spending categories, and savings goals. These inputs are processed to generate your personalized savings plan. We do not save your raw financial inputs in our database after the plan is generated.

Email address

If you choose to receive your savings plan by email or subscribe to updates, we collect your email address. We use it to send the content you requested and, if you opt in, occasional savings tips or updates.

Session and plan data

We use anonymous session identifiers to connect your form submission to your generated savings plan during your visit. These identifiers do not include bank account numbers, payment card details, or raw financial inputs.

Usage and technical data

We may collect basic usage and technical data, such as page visits, timestamps, referral source, browser type, device information, and error logs. We use this to improve the site, troubleshoot issues, and understand which content is useful.

Contact form information

If you contact us through the contact page, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. We use this information only to respond to your message, handle requests, and improve site accuracy.

Affiliate click data

If you click an affiliate or partner link, we may record the click, timestamp, merchant, referring page, and anonymous session identifier. This helps us track commissions and understand which offers are useful. This does not include your raw financial inputs.

Please do not send bank account numbers, card numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or other sensitive financial information through the contact form.

We do not require account creation to use the savings plan tool.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use raw savings-plan inputs to build advertising profiles.

AI PROCESSING

How your savings plan is generated.

When you submit the savings form, your inputs are processed by our AI savings engine to generate a ranked savings plan. Your raw inputs may be sent to the configured AI provider solely to return your savings plan.

We do not store your raw financial inputs in our database. We also do not use raw financial inputs to create advertising profiles.

The savings plan is general guidance only. It is not financial advice. Savings are estimates and may vary.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Services we use to operate the site.

Cloudflare privacy policy: Hosting, DNS, security, and performance for the website and app.

Supabase privacy policy: Database service used to store operational data such as sessions, leads, generated plans, deal records, click events, and feedback.

Mailjet privacy policy: Email delivery service used to send savings-plan emails and other requested messages.

MailerLite privacy policy: Newsletter platform used only if newsletter delivery is enabled. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address may be stored with MailerLite.

AI providers such as OpenAI privacy policy or Anthropic privacy policy may process savings-plan inputs solely to generate the plan response, depending on the provider configured at the time.

If analytics tools such as Google privacy policy are enabled, they may collect usage data such as page visits, device information, browser type, and referral source. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law, including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain uses of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

CHILDREN

This site is not intended for children.

The Way to Save is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

UPDATES

Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site, tools, or service providers change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect the latest version.
